How to make a Halloween Coffin

Dollar Store Skeleton covered in foil tape and India Ink
was then lightly sanded and covered with Matte Gel Medium
to protect the finish.

HOW TO MAKE A HALLOWEEN COFFIN

Made for AFTCM(Art for the Creative Mind - Yahoo Group) Swap

How to make a Halloween Coffin, I Constructed a coffin of chipboard (with inspiration and knowledge from Paper Phenomenon- Kathy Files and Jim the Gentleman Crafter).

They have so much to share, techniques and inspiration galore.  Kathy also has amazing kits she designs.  I love both these paper-crafters.

To the left is the front of the coffin.

Decide how you want to make your coffin, what size, what materials you have on hand, and what it will be used for - display, gift, candy holder.

This was such a fun project, I do believe one may cover anything with foil tape- Bwahahahahaha!

Inside the Halloween Coffin on the left are bats which are
suspended from clear plastic, to allow them to
boob and move when the Halloween Coffin is
opened or there is a breeze.

INSIDE THE COFFIN

The inside is lined with a silky material sample and some cording from my stash.

Potion bottles (with K and Co ephemera) have been arranged on a shelf covered with  foil tape constructed with bits and pieces of skeleton bits left over from other projects.

Added a Graphic 45 fussy cut lightbulb with wings from the Steampunk Debutant collection, a skull sticker and added some suspended bats I cut from black rose petal material. (They are attached to clear plastic strips - recycled packaging)

A chandelier is suspended and sways to and fro from the top of the coffin.

Going coffin crazy and now making one for Count Dracula ...

You can also make a Halloween Coffin out of a pre made coffin, wood, chip board, plastic coffin; I tend to create from whatever I have on hand, it is more frugal and makes my creations more unique.
HAPPY HAUNTING!
