How to make an Apothecary Jar Cabinet

How to make an Apothecary Cabinet

Halloween Apothecary Cabinet and Jars

I found a very old wooden box with leather hinges at a thrift store and decided to turn it into an Apothecary Box.  I have worked on this off and on for a while now.  It is finally almost done, though
I still find myself tinkering a bit with it...

This little baby was so so much fun to create.

 SUPPLIES:
Wooden Box
White Paint
Seam Binding
Small Jars WITH TOPS
2 miniature  wooden drawers
Hand made mini book of spells
Altoids Tins
Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Stains
Archival Ink- Sepia
Tim Holtz Laboratory Paper
Tim Holtz Rub Ons
Tim Holtz metal industrial sticker strips
Tim Holtz Metal Clock and Spinner
Graphis 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Paper
K & Co Labels

  1. To make this Apothecary Cabinet I first painted the entire outside and edges of the box white
  2. The people on the papers were "warmed" by rubbing the Sepia archival inks around their edges
  3. The inside of the box was then covered  with the exceptional Laboratory Paper from Tim, got this for cheapsies at Tuesday Morning
  4. The bottle holder was made of foam core with foam core dividers to fit each individual bottle and hold them securely
  5. The K&Co. labels were affixed to the bottles
  6. The Altoid tins were covered with G45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Papers- there are numerous tutorial for this available on You Tube
  7. The front was labeled with Tim Rub Ons and Industrial strips
  8. Archival Sepia Ink was added to the front door of the cabinet to make it grungy.

Happy Haunting friends!!!

Foxhugs,
Christy
